Course Offerings

Basic Part 60/75 Regulations Class

July 12-14, 2010 (Charleston, SC)

This fundamental class is geared toward Reporting Personnel, Plant Managers and Corporate Environmental Staff. This three-day course provides a basic understanding of the Part 60 and Part 75 regulations behind specific responsibilities. From this class, participants will become familiar with terms and acronyms and finding various sections in the rule, and understand the reasoning behind testing requirements and associated performance specifications.

CEMS New User with ESC|StackVision Class

July 12-13, 2010 (Charleston, SC)

This class is geared toward I&C Technicians, Plant Engineers, Environmental Coordinators and Reporting Personnel and will focus on the basic features of the ESC|StackVision software. This two-day course is specifically paced for a new user. Participants will receive hands-on experience with the StackVision software and have ample time to cover the entire DAS and associated tasks.

Data Management and SQL Database Administration for ESC|StackVision Class

July 12-13, 2010 (Charleston, SC)

As ESC continues to utilize Microsoft's® SQL Server database, the need to understand more advanced topics of database administration is required. Designed for individuals who have knowledge of basic IT system administrative tasks, this class will familiarize participants with the relationship between SQL Server and ESC|StackVision, and will discuss the utilities provided in SQL Server Management Studio for troubleshooting and preventing common database issues. This course also provides the working knowledge necessary for examining Data Management and recovery strategies as well as conducting preventative server maintenance.

Cal Gas Management Webinar

July 13, 2010

This one-hour webinar is designed to assist the participant in managing their calibration gases using the Cal Gas Management Tool available in ESC|StackVision. Participants will gain an understanding of how to create, apply and use the Cal Gas Management templates and Cal Gas Cylinder Management in order to maintain an inventory and status of their calibration gas cylinders.

Data QA/Certification with ESC|StackVision Workshop

July 14-15, 2010 (Charleston, SC)

This workshop is geared toward CEMS Technicians performing Quality Assurance activities and Environmental Reporting Personnel. Participants must have an understanding of plant/site certification events and procedures to fully benefit from this course. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to utilize ESC|StackVision to complete required Data QA and CEMS Certification procedures. This two-day workshop covers the theory of Certification/On-going Test Events and Quality Assurance procedures required for 40 CFR 75 quarterly reporting, discussions on linearity, RATA, Flow-to-Load, 7-Day Calibration Error/Drift Test, cycle time response tests, daily calibrations, formula verification and missing data algorithms.

Using ESC|CIMVision - Monitoring Plan Builder Workshop

During this workshop, participants will walk through the implementation and management of ESC|CIMVision - Monitoring Plan Builder. Participants will learn how to enter new users, companies, facilities and permits. After completing this workshop, attendees will understand the relationship between the ESC GHG MRR Monitoring Plan Builder and ESC|CIMVision - GHG MRR Module and the MRR applicability summary.

Data Review with ESC|StackVision Workshop

During this one-day workshop, participants will learn how to use ESC|StackVision to identify, troubleshoot and resolve data anomalies in order to maintain the integrity and validity of CEMS data. Using the DataLab, CalLab and reporting tools available in StackVision, participants will streamline their data review processes prior to submitting QA/Certification reports.

Series 4, Part 1 - Database Administration Webinar

Roadmap to Reporting Using ESC|StackVision and the ECMPS Client Tool Class

July 26-30, 2010 (Knoxville, TN)

Designed for Reporting Personnel, Plant Managers and Corporate Environmental staff, this five-day course provides a better understanding of the entire reporting process and demonstrates how ESC|StackVision can be used to decrease reporting frustrations. The first three days of this class will be devoted to Part60/75 regulations during which participants will become familiar with terms and acronyms, get comfortable with finding various sections in the rule, and understand the reasoning behind testing requirements and associated performance specifications. Featuring the QuickStart to ESC|StackVision Class, the fourth day will introduce the user to key StackVision features, including certification data entry, the new DataLab and CalLab, and the easy-to-navigate CEMScape. On the final day, we will offer the Using ECMPS workshop, allowing participants the opportunity to apply the information learned during the first four days of the course. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to clean up a monitoring plan, import and export files from ECMPS and StackVision, evaluate QA and Emissions data, and resolve the errors in StackVision.

*Roadmap to Reporting is a combination of three courses: Part 60/75 Regulations Class (3 days), QuickStart to ESC|StackVision Class (1 day) and Using ECMPS Workshop (1 day). Although we encourage attendees to register for the comprehensive five-day class, it can be split up and booked individually by course.

Using ECMPS Workshop

July 30, 2010 (Knoxville, TN)

Geared toward Data QA Personnel, Plant Engineers, Environmental Coordinators and Reporting Personnel, this workshop reviews the XML schema and the ECMPS Client Tool in order to acquire the skills necessary to successfully submit an XML report to EPA. In order for participants to fully benefit from this class, an understanding of SQL table structures and ESC|StackVision data collection/storage procedures is necessary. This course includes hands-on exercises designed to educate attendees on troubleshooting ECMPS errors. With these interactive exercises, participants will gain the ability to identify and resolve errors that may occur when making submissions via the Emissions Collection and Monitoring Plan System (ECMPS). The Reporting Instructions provided by EPA have been incorporated into a manual to eliminate the need to search in multiple places for an error resolution. In 2010, ESC|University is dedicated to providing customers the tools needed to become fluent with the ECMPS Client Tool.
