ESC|University May 2010 Training Courses

With everything from the implementation of new GHG reporting requirements to the introduction of several new ESC products and services, 2010 is going to be a busy year. But rest assured as ESC|University is up to the challenge! With all of these exciting changes on the horizon, we will be introducing several new courses so don't miss out!

Because the Spring 2010 User Group is in May, the majority of these classes will be offered in Cleveland, OH on the days surrounding User Group. However, for those of you who are unable to attend User Group, we are also offering several courses in San Francisco and several webinars so don’t miss out!

Support Issues Webinar

This hour will be used as a question and answer session with the ESC Support team. Support personnel will also discuss the top 10 issues from our customer base.

Introduction to Configuration with ESC|StackStudio Workshop

May 8, 2010 (Cleveland, OH)

Geared toward Environmental Engineers and CEMS Technicians, this workshop is designed for users who are new to the process of configuring ESC|StackVision. ESC|StackStudio is the primary tool used in many configuration tasks. Attendees will gain knowledge of the SQL Server-based architecture of StackStudio, then learn how to make simple edits to a StackVision configuration. In addition to identifying the steps necessary for completing common configuration edits, this course will demonstrate how StackStudio can be used for validation and error-checking tasks.

Using ESC|StackStudio Workshop

This workshop is designed for users who are experienced in configuring ESC|StackVision. Using ESC|CIMVision - GHG Manager for MRR Class

May 8-9, 2010 (Cleveland, OH)

This two-day class will provide details associated with implementing ESC|CIMVision – GHG Manager for MRR. Participants will learn how to create enterprises, facilities and units/processes, and how to establish the data link with ESC|StackVision and the ESC GHG Manager. Attendees will also learn how to enter/import, edit and aggregate data. Participation in this class will require a strong working knowledge of the facilities, units and processes that will be entered into the ESC GHG Manager for MRR application. This includes, but is not limited to, which source categories are applicable, which methodologies are being used, fuel type, sampling methods, calculation methods, contacts, designated representatives, current EPA program applicability (ARP, NBP, etc) ownership, physical location/address, etc.

Data Management and SQL Database Administration for ESC|StackVision Class

As ESC continues to utilize Microsoft's® SQL Server database, the need to understand more advanced topics of database administration is required. Designed for individuals who have knowledge of basic IT system administrative tasks, this class will familiarize participants with the relationship between SQL Server and ESC|StackVision, and will discuss the utilities provided in SQL Server Management Studio for troubleshooting and preventing common database issues. This course also provides the working knowledge necessary for examining Data Management and recovery strategies as well as conducting preventative server maintenance.

Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Mandatory Reporting Rule Workshop

This workshop is geared toward Environmental Management and Reporting staff members who will be responsible for reporting under the EPA Mandatory Reporting Rule and will cover the most recent developments concerning GHG policy, including all provisions incorporated into the EPA Mandatory Reporting Rule which will require large sources throughout the United States to report their GHG emissions. Special attention will be given to using ESC|StackVision to comply with this rule, including the use of additional software capabilities designed to accommodate necessary measurements and specific calculations.

SQL Report Writing with ESC|StackVision Version 3.0 Workshop

This workshop is geared toward CEMS Technicians and Environmental Engineers who manage DAS systems and IT personnel responsible for developing custom reports for the DAS. Attendees must understand the SQL table structure and ESC|StackVision data collections/storage procedures. This workshop provides attendees with knowledge on how to set up, design and maintain their custom StackVision reports using Microsoft® SQL Server's Reporting Services. Attendees will learn how to use the Reporting Services development tools to create custom reports, SQL Server Reporting Services, and its components and how to configure report publishing and execution settings. Attendees will also gain an understanding of the different data views within StackVision. This class will be most beneficial to those with a need to generate and maintain custom reports using SQL database tables and views.

Using Task Scheduler Wizard Webinar

May 18, 2010This webinar will show participants how to use the Task Scheduler Wizard in order to establish the steps between their email server and StackVision server so that reports can be successfully scheduled.

Roadmap to Reporting Using ESC|StackVision and the ECMPS Client Tool

May 24-28, 2010 (San Francisco, CA)

Designed for Reporting Personnel, Plant Managers and Corporate Environmental staff, this five-day course provides a better understanding of the entire reporting process and demonstrates how ESC|StackVision can be used to decrease reporting frustrations. The first three days of this class will be devoted to Part60/75 regulations during which participants will become familiar with terms and acronyms, get comfortable with finding various sections in the rule, and understand the reasoning behind testing requirements and associated performance specifications. Featuring the QuickStart to ESC|StackVision Class, the fourth day will introduce the user to key StackVision features, including certification data entry, the new DataLab and CalLab, and the easy-to-navigate CEMScape. On the final day, we will offer the Using ECMPS workshop, allowing participants the opportunity to apply the information learned during the first four days of the course. Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to clean up a monitoring plan, import and export files from ECMPS and StackVision, evaluate QA and Emissions data, and resolve the errors in StackVision.

*Roadmap to Reporting is a combination of three courses: Part 60/75 Regulations Class (3 days), QuickStart to ESC|StackVision Class (1 day), and Using ECMPS Workshop (1 day). Although we encourage attendees to register for the comprehensive five-day class, it can be split up and booked individually by course.

Data QA/Certification with ESC|StackVision Workshop

May 25-26, 2010 (San Francisco, CA)

This workshop is geared toward CEMS Technicians performing Quality Assurance activities and Environmental Reporting Personnel. Participants must have an understanding of plant/site certification events and procedures to fully benefit from this course. In this workshop, attendees will learn how to utilize ESC|StackVision to complete required Data QA and CEMS Certification procedures. This two-day workshop covers the theory of Certification/On-going Test Events and Quality Assurance procedures required for 40 CFR 75 quarterly reporting, discussions on linearity, RATA, Flow-to-Load, 7-Day Calibration Error/Drift Test, cycle time response tests, daily calibrations, formula verification and missing data algorithms.
